A WEDDING AT SANTA LUCIA PRESERVE, CARMEL BY THE SEA CALIFORNIA

"We met at work. We were friends first and used to go on walks during the work day to get coffee and that's how we got to know each other. Then one night, we were out with friends and coworkers and shared our first kiss. We were a secret office romance for a while before coming out as a couple."

A WEDDING AT SANTA LUCIA PRESERVE, CARMEL BY THE SEA CALIFORNIA

From the bride... "A good friend of mine mentioned Brian had returned home from getting his Masters Degree from Georgetown University and was back in town to stay. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't immediately intrigued; I knew of Brian growing up and our families knew each other too. In the summer of 2012, Brian and I kept showing up at the same parties and events. On the 4th of July, we were at a friend's BBQ and this was the first time we really talked. Soon after we went on our first date and after that, we just continued to spend time together. Brian started work on remodeling his family's beach house in Cambria and I started going there to visit him and hang out. Cambria was really the place we fell in love. We were both away from home and it was just us. We both got to know each other and the time together was so valuable. I knew Brian was the one when I would leave to go back home and I would cry for the first half of the drive. Once I was around him, I didn't want to be without him. Brian would say he knew I was the one after I spent New Year's Eve helping him get the house in order and finishing up all the details of the remodel (and the hot water heater broke right before we were getting ready to go to a NYE dinner)!! Being around each other was better than anything else, and that's really when we both knew. Brian proposed to me on a Monday afternoon in our home. My dog Mila had the ring on her collar. After Brian and I met, Mila became Brian's dog too. They have a special bond and it was so neat that he incorporated her into this special time. I was surprised and elated when he asked me to spend the rest of our lives together. I cannot wait for our wedding and everything beyond."
