Located in Manchester, Vermont, the Hildene estate is a historic Lincoln family property situated on over 400 acres of beautiful New England land. The historic location has been lovingly restored and carries forward the values of Abraham Lincoln into the twenty-first century. Centered around educating and inspiring those that visit the site, Hildene also offers couples the opportunity to make the historic location a part of their wedding day!

Robert Lincoln, son of Abraham Lincoln, and his wife, Mary, built Hildene at the turn of the 20th century as a summer home. The home sits on almost 400 acres of land and is surrounded by the Green Mountains, the Taconic Mountains, and the beautiful Battenkill River. In 1975 the last living Lincoln descendant to live at Hildene passed away and the property was gifted to the Church of Christ, Scientist and was later purchased by the Friends of Hildene non-profit in 1978 with the goal of restoring the home and formal garden. The stunning property now encompasses the original Georgian revival mansion, 14 historic buildings, a visitor’s welcome center, and so much more!

Being one of the most beautiful locations for a New England wedding, it’s no wonder that Hildene is a much sought-after venue for couples to host their wedding celebrations! With breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, the Formal Gardens and Terrace offer a stunning scene for a wedding ceremony set high on a hill. For the reception, Hildene offers a beautiful seasonal tent that can host up to 200 guests. You and your guests would enjoy a menu prepared with fresh local foods, some of which are even grown on HIldene’s farm, making it a true farm-to-table experience.

Choosing a historic wedding venue, such as Hildene, allows couples to take guests back in time while also creating their own history together! Hildene’s beautiful grounds would set the perfect backdrop for a beautiful New England wedding and Elysium Productions would love to be there to memorialize your special day on film to be enjoyed for many generations to come! We absolutely LOVE filming on the East Coast! Click here to view a sneak peek of some of our work.
