From the bride... "Short Story: We met through mutual friends, who are all in our wedding party. Long Story: We met for the first time at Artur's Tavern, a jazz bar in the West Village. I was out celebrating one of my best friends who passed the bar exam that day. Her friend from college, Mark, who also took the bar that day joined us (...after consuming lots of bourbon on his train ride from Albany to NYC that evening I learned later). I assumed he’d ask Carly for my number since we hit it off, however, I never heard from Mark. We re-met at Friendsgiving with this same group a few months later and re-hit it off after Mark started the exact same conversations. I was thinking ‘dating in New York really is so hard’ and Mark was thinking ‘if it isn’t broke don’t fix it’.. But at least this time he remembered and the rest is history."

From the bride... "I met Majd the first day of orientation of our intern year in Saint Louis. I thought "who is this well dressed, handsome, nice man with an accent!" We ended up working together in the ICU as co-interns and quickly became friends. He helped me perform bedside procedures, drove me to work in the snow when my car was stuck, and protected me from having to see some of the belligerent and hostile patients at the VA hospital. I fell in love with his character and kindness. Eventually, he started asking me out on dates and our relationship progressed from there. The values he carries from his upbringing is one of the things I love about him most."
